Japan has become an increasingly popular destination for teenagers who want to learn Japanese while experiencing the country’s culture. Many families look for summer programs that combine language learning with cultural activities in a safe and supportive environment.
Junior programs in Japan vary depending on age requirements, location, and how strongly the program focuses on language learning versus cultural experiences.
Below are several well-known programs that accept students between ages 11 and 17, offering experiences in rural Japan, Kobe, Kyoto, Fukuoka, and Tokyo.
